New Mixtape: Curtis Williams “Danco Jones”

Curtis Williams

Curtis Williams has already separated himself as being an artist that most people are use to coming out of Atlanta. Now Curtis Williams does something most artists don’t do in Atlanta and released his new mixtape, or I would say EP titled, “Danco Jones” with no DJ. With this project, Curtis Williams releases 15 new tracks that talks about his grind, his love for being high and features artists such as Wiz Khalifa, Key!, Danny Seth, Jace, J.I.D. and more. Also production completed by Sonny Digital, Ducko Mcfly, Childish Major and other elite producer. Listen

The ever popular Afropunk Fest was in full swing this past weekend for its 10th anniversary. The festival came back to Brooklyn’s Commodore Barry Park for a weekend of music, food and eclectic vendors. The musical line up included Alice Smith, Lianne La Havas, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, SZA, Meshell Ndegeocello, and D’Angelo just to name a few. The artists represented a variety of genres  from hip hop and soul to punk rock and metal. Celebrated as the most multicultural festival ever, Afropunk aims to bring people together in an open minded, non-conforming and unconventional setting. It sets out to celebrate differences and bring people together for a very special weekend. It did just that as the energy was positive and high both days as thousands packed out Commodore Barry Park to have a good time. Some celebrity faces also came out to Afropunk including Ice-T and Coco, Victoria’s Secret model Cara Delevingne and Zoe Kravitz. In addition to the music, the festival hosted various thrift shops from around New York City offering everything from clothing to home decor. The festival is a massive celebration of individuality and a huge success every year and you should definitely put it on the top of your to do list.
